Thursday was our big day of celebrations! The second half of our school day was spent with our kinder reading buddies, our multiplication celebration, and of course our Valentine’s Day party! It was quite the day and sprinkles will be found throughout the room for the next month.
Here’s a look at our fun-filled day!
First our multiplication celebration was to reward our third
grade for their hard work memorizing their facts. For each set of facts they
learned they earned another topping on their ice cream sundae! They’ve been
working on their facts every Friday for quite a while so everyone was excited
to see the hard work pay off!

Scooping is actually a very tiring job |
After we came down from our sundae sugar high, room 21
turned up the
crazy again and played Minute to Win It games. We played four
games for about 20 minutes. The best part was that they could take them home and
play with their siblings. (Some did choose to eat their game pieces)
After we played our games the students passed out their
Valentine’s. I’ve yet to figure out an efficient and controlled way to do this
so for about 15 minutes they are all up wandering around, looking for desks,
shouting people’s names, and squealing about candy. I figure if there’s 15
utterly chaotic minutes of our year, this can be it.

Very funny note from a student before lunch. Somehow she forgot about our winter Polar Express Party. |
It was a successful and crazy day – students were sent home
with a lot of sugar and because of teacher meetings and President’s Day they
will have 4 days to burn off the energy!
